5. German Shepherds are smart

You can teach a German Shepherd almost any trick. You just need the motivation and patience for it. German Shepherds learn very fast (they are after Collies and Poodles the smartest dog breed) and even figure tricks out on their own by observing. Unfortunatly, they may learn things you do not want them to know. One of the first "tricks" my Shepherd learned was how to open the Screen Door, when he had to go to the bathroom, we always have to keep them locked so he doesn't run outside by himself. :)

6. They are beautiful

German Shepherds have inner beauty just as well as outer beauty. However, the beauty of a German Shepherd is not decided by their "papers" or if they fit into AKC Standards. I mean, how cute is a Shepherd with an ear flopping down or with some silver fur? It is the whole German Shepherd package and their uniqueness, that is just so wonderful.
